Our Location
Great Guana Cay is situated ten nautical miles NE of Marsh Harbour in the beautiful Abaco Islands. The 1,100-acre island stretches seven miles from tip to tip, lying just south of Green Turtle Cay and just north of Man-O-War Cay. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and a beautiful beach to the north, and the clear blue waters of the Sea of Abaco to the south.
The Abacos are an archipelago of these smaller, isolated cays scattered across the northern region of the Bahamas. Don't mistake "isolated" for far away, though. Guana Cay is only 165 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida and 195 miles northeast of Miami, Florida.
Here, you can escape the chaos of the modern world without losing any of its conveniences.
Reached only by boat, Guana is one of the least inhabited and least commercialized cays in the Abacos. Orchid Bay is spread over 250 acres at the southern end. There are less than 150 local residents and second homeowners, who are all well known for their genuine hospitality and friendliness.
BEACHES
Seven miles of snowy white beach lines the Atlantic Ocean on Great Guana's Northeast shore. The beach is easily accessible by guests and immediately accessible by a number of select home sites. Great Guana Cay is listed in Fodor's Travel Guide as "Fodor's Choice" for Best Bahamas Beaches.
The Great Abaco Barrier Reef is the third largest in the world and begins less than 50 feet from our shore. You won't need a boat to explore these underwater playgrounds. Clear visibility, lack of "traffic" and an abundance of marine life will pleasantly surprise you. Reef depths range from over 40' to less than 2'
MARINA
With 66 spacious and sheltered deepwater slips, your yacht will feel at home here, too. Our marina comfortable accommodates vessels with drafts up to 9 feet and lengths up to 140 feet. Two docks are nestled within the harbour on the southern side of the community and enjoy the protected waters of the Sea of Abaco. Our Dockmaster and service-oriented staff members are always ready to assist.

HOME SITE OPPORTUNITIES
Breathtaking Oceanfront, Seafront and Scenic View residential home sites are available in Orchid Bay.
Home sites are spread throughout 250 acres, to the east of the nature preserve. The land is unspoiled and thick with tropical foliage, trees and flowers. Homes are often unseen from the road, offering great privacy and a low-key atmosphere. All sites are located within the gated community and monitored with 24-hour security. Residents and lot owners have full and immediate access to all facilities.
Approximately ten homes are completed at Orchid Bay. Construction typically takes nine months to complete and is monitored daily by our two on-site property partners, Jimmy and Melonie Albury. Many of our residents live here permanently, while others choose to stay several months out of the year and then rent to visitors. Residences whose owners are out of town are looked after on a daily basis.
Oceanfront home sites offer immediate access to the beach and outstanding views. These properties:

Member Facilities
Orchid Bay leisurely island lifestyle is complimented by private clubhouse facilities and modern amenities. A freshwater swimming pool and large patio area overlook the Sea of Abaco. Tennis courts are located near the vacation cottages and a 39 acre nature preserve full of native plants and animals offers peaceful walking trails. The Restaurant at Orchid Bay is fashioned with three walls of windows and a heightened stance for unobstructed views of the Sea of Abaco. The menu features traditional Bahamian cuisine and American favorites. An array of fresh seafood and delicious tropical dishes are prepared daily by our chef and served by our gracious wait staff.
Enjoy the famous Wild Orchid and other refreshing island beverages from the Lounge, or as a compliment to your meal. Guests may dine inside, outside on the terrace or poolside. Reservations are happily accepted.A new beachfront pavilion is set on seven miles of snowy white beach lining Great Guana northern shore. This facility provides maintained restrooms, a large covered veranda with picnic tables and a sun deck. Chaise lounges, sun umbrellas and beach towels are provided. Sunfish sailboats, beach bicycles and snorkeling gear are also available.

The Great Abaco Barrier Reef begins less than 50 feet from our shore. The calm, clear waters of the Sea of Abaco make for a true cruising paradise and fishing that is said to equal that of Bimini. A local village offers a grocery and hardware store, as well as several small boutiques.

Vacation cottages and apartments are situated near the marina on the Sea of Abaco and offer private docks for our guests. Fully equipped kitchens, complete modern amenities and daily housekeeping are provided. Rooms are fashioned with elegant Caribbean decor. Spacious floorplans and oversized windows allow for refreshing amounts of natural light and stunning views of the colorful seascapes. Cottages have two-three bedrooms and two-three bathrooms with private, screened terraces facing the Sea. Apartments have one bedroom and one bathroom with covered balconies overlooking the harbour.Large oceanfront and seafront homes are also available for rent on a weekly basis. Oceanfront homes are situated along the beach and offer gorgeous views of the Atlantic. Seafront homes are nestled on the majestic Sea of Abaco. These accommodations, located within the gated resident community, are perfect for family reunions and getaways with friends, as they sleep up to 20 comfortably.

OCEANFRONT
Oceanfront home sites line the Atlantic Ocean on the northern side of the cay. Each property ranges in size from approximately acre to 1.5 acres. Lots feature immediate access to the seven mile beach and excellent elevation for panoramic views. The Great Abaco Barrier Reef begins less than 50 feet from this shore.
SEAFRONT
Seafront home sites border the Sea of Abaco on the southern side of the cay. Each property offers deepwater, shore-line access for private dockage and varies in size from approximately 1 to 1 acres.
SCENIC VIEW
Scenic View home sites are situated atop a hill in the center of the community. Elevation up to 58 feet allows for 360-degree views of the cay and surrounding waters. Scenic View sites range in size from approximately acre to 4 acres.
